San Anselmo 221

A residential project defined by continuity, accessibility, and a controlled relationship with its site.

The house is positioned along a gently sloping terrain, with access from the upper level and openness oriented toward the rear landscape. Spatial organization prioritizes clarity and ease of movement, allowing all primary functions to operate on a single level.
Private and public areas are arranged to maintain privacy toward the street while opening living spaces toward the garden and the creek beyond. Large sliding openings allow interior spaces to extend outward, dissolving the boundary between inside and outside when required.

Light is introduced through controlled openings rather than exposure, maintaining calm interior conditions throughout the day. Circulation is simple and direct, avoiding level changes and visual interruptions.
San Anselmo 221 is approached as an exercise in domestic restraint—where comfort, light, and accessibility are resolved through spatial clarity.
